Fill me up!

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

It’s one thing we all have in common……..we are all going to age. Yes, it is very depressing that we start to look less youthful, and our skin will become dull and lifeless but there is a way of perking yourself up. Here at Woodborough House, we have a fully qualified Dermatologist who treats patients who are interested in Dermal Fillers. Unlike other facial rejuvenation treatments, Dermal Fillers will fill the line or crease that is there rather than paralyze the muscle.

Yesterday we had a visit from our Restylane representative. Restylane is the gel based Dermal Filler that Caroline uses. Its a great product, and you may have heard of it in the media, magazines, or makeover programmes. The word on the street is Gordon Ramsey has used it!

Now for the scientific part………. Restylane is made of Hyaluronic Acid. We all naturally produce Hyaluronic acid in our bodies. At a certain age, the body stops producing HA and thats what gives our skin the signs of ageing. By using Restylane Fillers, it can give the skin  volume, and the youthful  natural look it had before. Dermal Fillers will last for about 9-12 months so if you want to maintain the fresh faced look, a trip back to the Dermatologist will be needed. The product can be used in a number of areas: forehead, frown lines, lipstick bleed lines, cheek augmentation and jaw line. It is also used as a hydration product. It can help repair sun damaged skin, thinning of the skin and even ageing hands! The product is very safe when treated by qualified dermatologists, and has a safety track running over 14 years.

Of course, I look youthful enough not to have needed the treatment, but some of the girls are lining themselves up for a session (I know they won’t mind me telling you that)! If you are interested in Restylane products or would like to know more about Dermal Fillers then please ring our Team. They would be more than happy to provide you with information or litrature ;-)

A new member Team Woodborough

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Sorry bloggers I have been away for a while, but I’m back with all the updates, gossip and news from Woodborough House. This weeks news is…………we have a new member of the Team! Yay! Sarah and Nick have decided they need an extra person to help take the weight off their shoulders and help with the running of the practice. Karen has joined us as the new Business Manager of the practice. You may also recognise her, if you see her, as she did all the interior designing for the practice when it was being revamped. She runs her own interior design business when she isnt here, so she is a handy lady to have around. On behalf of all the girls (and a few boys) at WH we want to say a big WELCOME!! You are one of Team Woodborough now ;-)

Our Star Pupil

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

We were happy to see one of our regular patients yesterday, as we have officially named him our “star pupil”. This man came to see us as a new patient at the end of 2009. He presented with poor oral hygiene, and sore, swollen, bleeding gums. He told us that, although he knows how to brush his teeth, he has never been shown by a professional how to brush and clean inter-dentally correctly. Sen took the time to discuss with him throughly the most effective way to brush and clean between his teeth. We gave him all the tools, and sent him of to play with them. We have seen the patient a few times since his first appointment, and what an approvement a few months make! His oral hygiene has improved dramatically and his periodontal status has improved. He has got a great routine now and he is sticking by it. His wife even told us, that he keeps floss and interdental brushes in his car! Thats dedictaion. He definitely is our star pupil ;-)

If you would like more information about oral hygiene, then please ask to talk to one of our dentists or hygienists. They will be more than happy to discuss things with you.
