A Winning Woodborough House Christmas Party!

Everyone at Woodborough House gets involved in arranging the staff Christmas party. We can all make suggestions and put forward our ideas and venue preferences.

We try to make sure we do something different each year, change it up a little so it keeps things interesting.

This Christmas, as a practice we decided to book a meal at the Genting Club Casino in Caversham. We arrived at the casino for 8pm where we were greeted by friendly staff and escorted to the ‘learn to play’ area. We were then given a brief introduction to Blackjack, and received a £5 complimentary playing card so we could start our evening.

At 8.30 we sat down for our meal, where everyone had named places which also showed our choice of food. This was brilliant because I don’t think any of us could remember exactly what we had ordered. The food was delicious, and the service provided by the casino staff was very good.

After a few glasses of wine and good food, everyone was ready to have a go on the casino floor, with a couple of members of staff leaving with more than they spent which is always a positive. There was also some dancing involved which as you can imagine after a couple of drinks was quite entertaining. A little after midnight a few brave souls ventured into Reading town centre to continue their night, whilst the remainder stayed at the casino drinking more wine before hailing a taxi home.

All in all it was another brilliant evening, everyone enjoyed themselves and we all finished in good Christmas spirits.
