A day in the life at Woodborough House by Lauren!

My name’s Lauren and I am the Clinical Administrator here at Woodborough House. My job entails a bit of everything really! Firstly, I assist Cathy our Clinical Manager with the referrals, treatment co-ordination and administration of oral sedation. I also cover the reception desk with our lovely receptionist Leah, assisting in general admin duties alongside this. Finally, I am a qualified dental nurse so you will sometimes find me in surgery nursing, in the de-contamination suite or processing the PRGF Blood Plasma System for Nick and his team. You could say “I have my fingers in a lot of pies!”

My days at Woodborough House are certainly varied! No day is the same here for me which I love because it keeps all of my skills up to date. I am also currently working through my BDA Radiography Qualification. This means I am now allowed to take x-rays under supervision and (if I pass!) on my own by September. When we have particularly busy days, it will be so helpful for the dentists to have someone extra available to take their x-rays.

I love being able to get to know our patients while talking to them about their treatment, taking x-rays or going through instructions with them. I think that is my favourite part of the job, meeting and learning about new people! My job is very rewarding and it really pays off when you know you’ve made someone feel special that day or you’ve helped them in some way. The team is fantastic here at Woodborough House too, everybody is happy to help each other and it makes coming to work a breeze!
