How I spent New Year’s Eve by Leah (Receptionist)

Well I said I would give you an update on how my New Year’s went, so here we go :)…

I had a very good night! As I mentioned in my previous post, we went to the Hilton Hotel in Newbury. We arrived about 5pm and the night didn’t start until 7.30pm, so that gave us plenty of time to get ready. The hotel was lovely and all the staff there were very pleasant!

Once we were ready we went downstairs and were given some Buck’s Fizz before we were seated for the meal. I has initially thought we were having a three course meal, but it was actually a four course! Needless to say I was absolutely stuffed after the meal. They offered us cheese and biscuits and tea and coffee after, as much as I would have liked it, I had to refuse. I had already consumed too much food that evening and of course needed some room for the wine (would have been rude not to!).

After a bit of a rest from the food we went over to the casino tables. We didn’t have to pay for it and was a good laugh! I just wish money was involved as I was definitely on for a winner (just my luck!)!

On came the music and we danced the night away. The clock struck 12 and we brought in the New Year singing auld lang syne.

I had a really good New Years, and I hope you all did too! I’m looking forward to seeing what 2014 brings! :)
