A day in the life at Woodborough House by Cathy!

My name is Cathy and I am the Clinical Manager and Patient Co-ordinator here at Woodborough House. As Clinical Manager and Patient Co-ordinator it is my job to focus on the clinical daily running of the practice.

No day is ever the same here at Woodborough House!

My main role is to look after the clinical team and patients on a day to day basis. Fabulous patient care is the main reason that we all work here at Woodborough House. Customer service is one of our highest priorities. We try to make each patient journey an individual one and to make the Woodborough House experience as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

There is a large clinical team here which consists of Dentists, Hygeinists and Dental Nurses – even the receptionists are involved in some of the clinical aspects of the dental practice. As you can imagine they all have to be looked after and organised, sort of like having a second family! :)

Although I have mentioned what my main role is I have many other smaller roles throughout the practice, which can include taking our daily ‘huddle’, a meeting at the beginning of the day when we discuss how the day is going to run and anything specific that needs to be done that day such as ordering lunches, TLC patient calls… basically everything to ensure the day runs smoothly!

I ensure that all of the stock is correct and available and that all of the equipment is up and running, serviced and maintained well. I liaise with Referral Dentists going out to meet other Patient Co-ordinators and new referring dentists.

Finally I am a fully qualified Dental Nurse and I also have my Radiography qualification, so you will find me in surgery with the dentists some days and also taking x-ray’s for patients upon the dentist’s prescription.

As you can see a day in the life of Woodborough House can vary a lot so it always keeps us busy and entertained!
