Fixing Your Smile With Dental Bonding
Tooth enamel is the hardest part of the human body, and our teeth are designed to take a lot. That being said, cracks may still form and fractures do happen. When this is the case, we provide effective composite bonding to repair chipped and broken teeth.
Using a tooth-coloured resin, composite bonding is a non-invasive treatment that is a quick and effective solution for remedying damaged, discoloured, and gapped teeth.
If you’re unhappy with the appearance of your teeth, composite bonding may be the simple solution you’re looking for.
How Does Composite Bonding Work?
Sometimes referred to as tooth bonding, or dental bonding, we’ll begin by matching the resin with the colour of your teeth so that a seamless appearance is achieved. If you’re looking to lighten your teeth, we can carry out the procedure in conjunction with a whitening treatment.
Next, we’ll prepare the affected tooth by roughing its surface so that it bonds with the resin. Then, when your tooth is ready, we will apply the resin.
At this stage, the resin is pliable and we can easily mould it into the perfect shape to improve the look of the tooth. This part of the process is handled with patience, care, and precision.
Once we’re happy with the results, we use a UV light to harden the resin before fine-tuning and polishing your finished tooth.
What Are the Alternatives to Composite Bonding?
There are several different cosmetic procedures that will enhance the appearance of your teeth. We’ll assess your suitability for composite bonding, however, in some cases we may suggest one of the following options:
- Veneers can be applied to the front of your teeth to correct a range of dental problems.
- Crowns or bridges can be placed onto the visible part of your teeth.
- Whitening can improve discolouration across your entire set of teeth.
While we believe that all good things are worth waiting for, we understand that not everyone has the luxury of being able to wait weeks to see the results they’re looking for. For these situations, composite bonding is quick and effective.
