Appointment Cancellation Policy

for General Dentists and Hygienists

Securing an Appointment

At Woodborough House we take a fee at point of booking to secure your consultation appointment and treatment appointment with the Dentist. This fee varies according to the type of consultation and treatment and will be communicated to you by our team.

Cancelling an Appointment

If for any reason you need to cancel your appointment we operate a system that we consider fair to both the patient and dentist. Insufficient notice of cancellation will result in a fee being applied to the patient.

  • We require a minimum of one week’s notice of cancellation for all Treatment appointments and for joint check-up/hygiene appointments.
  • For standard single check-up and single hygiene appointments we require a minimum of 48 working hours’ notice*.

Fees are normally charged at the appropriate rate (currently £165 per hour). We are always available should you have any questions about this policy – visit our contact page to get in touch.

Although extremely rare, appointments may have to be rescheduled by the practice at short notice should any emergencies or equipment failure occur within the practice. In the highly unlikely instance that we do need to alter appointments, we would not be liable for consequential loss due to the necessity for patients to alter their arrangements.

*Cancellations for Monday appointments (and Tuesday appointments following a bank holiday) must be made by close of business on the previous Thursday.
