Now that the festivities are over it’s back to reality! I was very lucky to have 2 weeks off over Christmas which is a lovely long break. I filled my time with lots of shopping, good food (and wine!), games with the family and taking the time out to relax of course!

During the run up to Christmas all of the family were together which was great as it doesn’t happen very often. We all got quite competitive over some board games and watched lots of movies; we love the Harry Potter ones! On my first day off me and my boyfriend took a trip to London for some shopping and to visit Winter Wonderland. We went to Covent Garden for some lunch and a look around the shops; the decorations there were so beautiful, it’s definitely my favourite place to visit in London! It was a great day and we really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and a couple of the fun rides too.

Christmas went far too quick and before I knew it, it was time for New Year’s celebrations! This year a few friends and I decided we would do something different and booked a trip to Dublin for over New Year. Our hotel was a short walk from Temple Bar, right where all the fun is! The weather wasn’t too bad, it only rained once and wasn’t even that cold. We visited the Guinness Factory and a couple of the museums, did yet more shopping and indulged in lots of lovely food and drink. The atmosphere was amazing on New Year’s Eve and all the local people were so friendly and welcoming; we went to a couple of the bars in Temple Bar and watched some of the performers. At midnight we joined the crowds on the street to watch the fireworks, they were so pretty!

After all that visiting, eating and exploring I was exhausted! Now it’s all over, I’ve made a couple of New Year’s Resolutions – to save more money and to live a healthier lifestyle. Let’s see if I stick to them, here’s to a fantastic 2015!!
