Last week Sarah and I were very excited to have the opportunity to get dressed up and go to The Royal Ascot. Sarah went on the Thursday, which was Ladies Day, with one of her friends, and I went on the Saturday with a bunch of mine.

I had a great day out with my friends, and though the weather wasn’t the nicest, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits or spoil our fun! Β We still managed to have a great time with, ahem, plenty of wine, and some of us even had a win or two on a couple of races!
We all brought picnics with us, as we were in the Sliver ring, and managed to get a great spot where we had a brilliant view when the horses flew by!
This was my first year of going to The Royal Ascot and I didn’t think I would get very involved with the betting, but when I put the first bet on, that was it; I was away! Β I didn’t bet too much, but I am feeling very thankful towards Lethal Force, who’s brilliant win got me my money back and put the hugest smile on my face.
Though we were there all day, time seemed to slip by as quickly as the horses, and I was sad to call it a day, when the time came. I will definitely be going back next year, and after having discussed it with Sarah, I know this Ascot won’t be her last, either! We really recommend it for a day out that combines all the best things: excitement, posh wine and high heels!
