In our latest blog post, trainee dental nurse Lo talks about her most rewarding moments at Woodborough House Dental Practice!
I have been at Woodborough House for coming up to one year (September), and I don’t think I can count on one hand the amount of rewarding moments I have had!!
As a trainee dental nurse I spend lots of time dealing with patients making them feel welcome and comfortable during their treatment, and to start I was a little nervous. Meeting new people is something that I love to do having previously worked at a hairdresser, but when you’re new you never know what to expect in a new environment.
My first rewarding moment was actually getting the job here at Woodborough House. Working as part of such an amazing team I was stunned by the high end of patient care here… who wouldn’t find that rewarding!! Then came the training. Kirsten was lovely and helped me learn the technical names for all the equipment used and how to use it… there’s a lot to learn!!
After a few months Liv and Leah took me under their wing and started to train me on reception, filing, scanning and answering the phone! Answering the phone was great but I found it a little challenging using the dental booking system and finding out what questions to ask. I felt very rewarded when I managed to answer the phone to a new patient and get them booked in!!!
Overall as you can probably see Woodborough House is a very rewarding place to work and I’m sure that I will have many more rewarding moments in future years!!
