We are very pleased here at Woodborough House to announce that Sara, one of our fantastic nursing team, recently passed The National Certificate exam, awarded by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN).  She is ‘over the moon’ as it is something that she has worked very hard for.  The training, study and exam are very intense and are by no means easy, as you have to juggle full time work and study.

Sara was so focused and passionate about passing this exam that she even postponed her honeymoon (a Mediterranean Cruise) so that she would not miss the exam. How about that for true dedication!  It is true to say that all of the Woodborough House team is prepared to go that extra mile to give their patients the excellent care and service they so rightly deserve.

All dental nurses need to be registered with the General Dental Council, our regulating body, just like specialists, dentists and other health care professionals. The General Dental Council has stated that part of the conditions of registration includes the completion of Continued Professional Development. We all have to undertake so many hours in a five year cycle in subjects that include;

  • CPR and Medical Emergencies
  • Cross infection Control
  • IRMER Radiography
  • Law and Ethics

Here at Woodborough House, we take “lifelong learning” very seriously. It enables us to improve our knowledge, skill sets and stay at the leading edge of dentistry.

Sara can now expand her skills which could include;

  • NEBDN Certificate in Oral Health Education
  • NEBDN Certificate in Conscious Dental Sedation Nursing
  • NEBDN Certificate in Special Care Dental Nursing
  • NEBDN Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing
  • NEBDN Certificate in Dental Radiography Nursing

If you are an existing patient or want to join Woodborough and you have a question to ask or need some advice, don’t hesitate to phone or e-mail us and one of our dedicated team will be more than happy to help you.
