In line with Government guidelines, we have reopened for dentistry, with all the PPE and protocols required to keep you and our team safe.

We are entering into a phase in dental history that will constitute the “New Normal”

What will your dentist experience look like in the New Normal? We are here to guide you!

1.       BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT

When you phone to book your appointment, you will be asked some screening questions. You will be asked to complete a similar questionnaire again in paperwork format along with a Covid specific medical history which we will email out to you or send in a reminder text message.

If you answer YES to any of the screening questions please call the practice immediately.

If you show any symptoms following the appointment booking, you should contact the practice by phone.

We ask you to please fill out the paperwork emailed to you and send it back to us before your appointment – you can edit the documents or scan them.

We are also suggesting that when you visit, we take your payment for treatment over the phone as we wish to limit contact between the receptionists and patients for everyone’s safety.

2.       ARRIVING AT THE PRACTICE

When arriving for your appointment please remain in your car/outside the practice until your appointment is due. When your appointment is due, please come to the door and ring the bell, we will open the door and a staff member will take your temperature.

Please leave as much of your personal gear in the car or at home as possible. We will provide small tubs that you can take into the surgery to protect your keys, phones, glasses… Note that these are not big enough for bigger items like jackets and handbags.

We ask you to please use the available hand sanitiser when you first enter the practice. You will also be asked to put on a single use mask when entering the practice. These will be provided for you, but of course feel free to wear your own.

Where possible you will be taken straight into the surgery for your appointment, as we are trying to avoid use of the waiting room. When not possible, we ask you to please take a socially distanced seat. It is important to maintain a distance of at least 2 metres if another patient is present in the dental practice.

At reception we have installed Perspex screens at the desk. Please avoid using the bathroom facilities unless absolutely necessary. If you do need to use the bathroom, please speak to one of our reception staff members.

3.       DURING THE APPOINTMENT

You will notice a big difference in the PPE (personal protective equipment) the staff will be wearing when you enter the surgery. This will differ depending on the reason for your visit. Please do not worry; it is still the same friendly team behind all of the new kit.

We have installed medical grade air filtration units in the surgeries and waiting room to ensure the speedy removal of all harmful substances including viruses and we are using fogging machines to disinfect the surgeries and communal areas which are very noisy!

4.       ON YOUR WAY OUT

At the end of your appointment, please place your mask in the clinical waste bin and sanitise your hands again before leaving.

If, within 14 days of your appointment you begin to develop any symptoms, such as a high fever or a new continuous cough, please inform us and follow the appropriate self-isolation advice.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Woodborough House and we thank you for your support!
