How can I improve the colour of my stained teeth?
Stained teeth can be caused by numerous factors in the diet. Some of these causes include consuming certain drinks such as tea and coffee, whilst eating certain foods, long-term smoking and ageing are all major causes of the problem.
Improving the colour of your teeth can be achieved by cutting back on certain drinks or foods, but it doesn’t always help in the long term when the damage could already have been done. To improve the colour of your teeth, a teeth whitening procedure is often the most effective result.
What is a teeth whitening procedure?
When you come to see us at Woodborough Dental about having your teeth whitened, we will first have a discussion with you about your ideal smile and examine your mouth to establish what solution is best suited to you as an individual.
Our team are especially trained in all manner of cosmetic dental treatments and we have state-of-the-art equipment here at the practice so that we can offer you a range of options to achieve your ideal smile. We use the Enlighten range, which are specialist products for professional teeth whitening.
It’s important to note that only dental professionals are legally allowed to deliver any in-office whitening treatments so beware of untrained professionals in beauty salons who offer this as well.
How does the laser teeth whitening procedure work?
The laser teeth whitening procedure is carried out by first preparing your mouth and gums with a shield to protect them, leaving your teeth exposed. A whitening gel is then applied to your teeth, which is designed to work with the light. When the laser is placed on the gel, they are designed to work together to break up stains and remove the discoloration.
This gel is applied for three fifteen minute sessions for a treatment time of 45 minutes. You can then leave with a brighter and whiter smile. Further information can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybAliGo0VW8
